SINOPSIS /SYNOPSIS

ESPAÑOL

Amanda y Julieta son dos hermanas colombianas que viven en España y que deciden inventarse una vida ficticia para su madre en Colombia. Por medio de cartas y fotos post-fechadas le harán creer que sus vidas son maravillosas no sólo en el presente, sino en un futuro hipotético en donde las dos consiguen todo lo que su madre espera de ellas. Así, Julieta puede suicidarse y su hermana encubrir para siempre su suicidio a los ojos de su madre, para así salvarla del dolor de tal tragedia.

ENGLISH

Amanda and Julieta are two Colombian sisters, who live in Spain and have decided to create a fake life for their mother in Colombia. By using post-dated photos and letters, they will lead the mother to believe their lives are wonderful, not only in the present, but also in a hypothetical future in which they achieve everything their mother expects from them. Having done so, Julieta commits suicide and her sister conceals this from her mother forever, in order to save her from the grief of such tragedy.

Ganador del Premio Coral 2013 al mejor guión inédito titulado “Pacto” en el Festival Internacional de Cine de La Habana, Cuba. Fue parte del equipo creativo de la primera temporada de la franja infantil del Canal Caracol (Club 10), ganadora del Premio India Catalina a mejor programa infantil. Ha hecho parte del comité asesor del canal RCN, en donde también desarrolló junto con Adriana Suárez el diseño de la telenovela Allá te espero, así como los libretos de El último matrimonio feliz (premio India Catalina y TV y Novelas a mejor libreto y mejor telenovela en el 2009). También trabajó como escritor en la serie Los caballeros las prefieren brutas, producido para Sony Entertaiment Television y en la serie Comando Élite producida por Dramax y emitida por Mundofox (U.S.A.). Su cortometraje “Pacto” fue seleccionado oficialmente dentro del Festival Iberoamericano de Cine de Huelva en el 2013. En teatro fue Premio Distrital de Dramaturgia con su obra Nuestras vidas privadas, la cual fue publicada y estrenada en el Royal Court Theatre de Londres, así como en Cuidad de México bajo la dirección de Sebastián Sánchez Amunátegui. Con su proyecto Pacto ganó en el 2011 la beca de producción de cortometraje del Insituto de las Artes de Bogotá (guión y dirección), y además la beca de desarrollo de guión para largometraje de Proimágenes en Movimiento. Se ha desempeñado como profesor de dramaturgia en diferentes universidades y fue varios años coordinador de la Red Nacional de Dramaturgia Colombiana, en asocio con la Dirección de Artes del Ministerio de Cultura. Actualmente hace parte del taller de lectores del departamento de libretos de RCN Televisión, desempeñándose en revisión y asesoría de dramatizados.

In 2013 he won the Coral Award for the Best Unproduced Screenplay (“Pact”) in the Havana Film Festival. He was part of the creative team that developed the first season of “Club 10” (Caracol channel), which won the India Catalina award for the best Children's TV program. He was part of the script consultant team at RCN Channel where, alongside Adriana Suárez, he helped storyline the telenovela Allá te espero and developed the scripts for El último matrimonio feliz (India Catalina and TV y Novelas award for best script and best telenovela in 2009). He has worked as scriptwriter on the TV series Los caballeros las prefieren brutas, produced for Sony Entertaiment Television, as well as on the serial thriller Comando élite produced by Dramax and broadcast by Mundofox channel in U.S.A. His short film (also called “Pact”) was officially selected for the Iberoamerican Film Festival of Huelva, Spain in 2013. In theatre he won the District Playwriting Award with his play Nuestras vidas privadas (“Our private life”), which was staged at The Royal Court Theatre, London, as well as in México city under the direction of Sebastián Sánchez Amunátegui. With his project Pacto, he won the production grant given by the Institute of Arts of Bogota (screenplay and direction), and also the screenplay development grant for feature films given by Proimágenes Colombia. Pedro Miguel has taught screen-writing at several Colombian universities and for 4 years led the Colombian Playwright Network in coordination with the Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture of Colombia. He is currently part of the script consultant team at RCN channel and lectures in the Screen-writing program at the Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia.
