Pendaripen cuenta la historia del pueblo Roma/Gitano desde su llegada a Espala hasta nuestros días por boca de escritores, ensayistas, antropólogos, historiadores, investigadores, abogados, políticos y artistas gitanos y gitanas. Por primera vez en nuestro país se les da voz para que cuenten sus orígenes, los siglos de persecución, discriminación y opresión, pero también de mestizaje cultural con la población negra, cristina y morisca hasta dar origen a un arte único en el mundo, el flamenco.

ENGLISH

Pendaripen tells the story of the Roma/Gitano people from their arrival in Spain to the present day, through the voices of Roma writers, essayists, anthropologists, historians, researchers, lawyers, politicians, and artists. For the first time in our country, they are given a platform to share their origins, centuries of persecution, discrimination, and oppression, but also the cultural blending with Black, Christian, and Moorish populations that gave rise to a unique art form in the world: flamenco.
